art prints
Custom options are usually available. I would love to mock up your favorite images in your own space to help you select a size and collection.
I print the images at home on archival paper - they have stunning depth and texture to them and are guaranteed to last over 100 years if properly taken care of.
Butterflies
Butterflies
Butterflies typically have very different patterns on one side of their wings than the other. One is meant to keep them safe from their enemies, while the other is to attract other butterflies. When a butterfly lands its wings are folded up and it would only see itself (its body). It's not only ok, but a beautiful thing that we don't all see the same things in ourselves and each other. We should aim to search for the Truth of who we are, but not always in spite of our view or the view of others.
I use several techniques with these that are more “hands on” than my traditional photographs. I tear and fray edges of rice paper to give them a texture that mimics a real butterfly wing. I print some on canvas which gives me the opportunity to paint over them with pearl or gold. For many of them I have even custom painted the frames to integrate them into the piece. (Details are best seen on my instagram page where I frequently post videos of the process.)
While I do have some completed pieces available, commissioning your own butterfly means you can choose the actual butterfly that I photograph!
Please contact me (click the envelope at the bottom of the page to email) if you are interested in a butterfly!
